About

Vision

A community where mindfulness is integral to daily life, empowering individuals to achieve greater well-being, resilience, and personal fulfillment through accessible and transformative practices.

Mission

At PranaSol, we work to empower individuals and communities to cultivate balance, resilience, and well-being through science-backed mindfulness practices. By integrating evidence-based techniques with personalized guidance, we strive to inspire meaningful growth, foster emotional clarity, and create a foundation for sustainable mental, emotional, and physical health.

Behind the Name

Prana, the Sanskrit word for “life force,” represents the vital energy that flows within and around us, sustaining every breath we take. Sol, the Latin word for “sun,” is the radiant force that nourishes all life on Earth. Together, PranaSol embodies the harmony of breath and light—the essence of strength, renewal, and vitality. Our mission is to empower you with the tools to cultivate resilience, not just to endure life’s challenges, but to rise, flourish, and thrive.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is awareness and nonjudgmental acceptance of one's internal states and surroundings from moment to moment. Mindfulness is essentially a state of being, while meditation, yoga, breathwork, etc. are practices that develop mindfulness. Just as weight training builds muscle strength leading to a stronger, more agile body, the practice of mindful techniques strengthen your awareness and personal management skills to better help you meet life's demands each day.

What is Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness?

Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness is an adapted approach to mindfulness that modifies traditional practices to ensure safety for individuals with trauma history as a way to help prevent overwhelm or re-traumatization. PranaSol therefore teaches mindfulness from a trauma-sensitive lens, which means:

  • You are always invited to modify or opt out of any practice.

  • You are encouraged to move at your own pace.

  • Choice, agency, and safety are prioritized.

  • There is no pressure to share personal experiences.

While mindfulness can be supportive, it may sometimes bring up unexpected emotions or sensations, and we encourage anyone unsure about their experience to reach out to us. These teachings are not designed to treat trauma, PTSD, or mental health conditions.

How it Began

Over twenty years ago, I embarked on a journey chasing monkeys through jungles, luring bears in the temperate rainforest, and immersing myself in remote landscapes and cultures. Working in wildlife ecology was exhilarating but also demanding, pushing me to my limits physically, mentally, and emotionally. While in the jungles of Thailand, covered in biting insects with the worst heat rash I've ever had, I was forced to learn to focus on the movements of the monkeys I was collecting data from versus the discomfort, annoyance, and real threats of snakes and tigers or I couldn't do my job each day. This is how I discovered mindfulness and, eventually, yoga, offering me survival tools and a way to find stillness in the storms.

These practices became my anchor, helping me heal from trauma, navigate the chaos of life, and even reawaken my mind after becoming a mother. They taught me that resilience isn't just about endurance but a deeper connection. Our brains can rewire, our hearts can open, and we can move through life with the right tools with greater awareness and grace.

Now, I combine my science background with mindfulness, yoga, and education to help others reconnect with themselves and the world around them. Whether in the wilderness or guiding my children through a moment of overwhelm, my mission remains to empower people with the skills to thrive during their "one wild and precious life."

About Rebecca

Rebecca Dary.heic

PranaSol is grounded in both personal dedication and professional experience.

I bring over 20 years of personal mindfulness practice and more than a decade of teaching yoga, meditation, and mindfulness in group, private, and professional settings. My formal training includes over 700 hours of certified yoga and meditation education, certification as a Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness Practitioner, and personal training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution and a joint Master of Science in Conservation Biology and Wildlife Ecology, along with 12 years of professional experience in biological and behavioral research. My academic work focused on how living systems respond to pressure and adapt over time — a lens I now apply to human stress physiology and nervous system regulation.

Most recently, I dedicated a full year to researching neuroscience and mindfulness to develop this 8-week program centered on nervous system regulation, resilience, and sustainable well-being.

This work integrates scientific research, ancient contemplative practices, and lived experience. I study and teach the science of the nervous system, neuroplasticity, and stress resilience not only from a theoretical perspective, but from real-world application — translating complex research into practical tools that can be used in daily life and high-pressure environments.
