The Growth Mindset- Start Small for Change

Updated: Aug 3

Every month I'll share a spark of science, a moment of mindfulness, and a whisper from the wild to inspire your journey.

🔬 Science Spark:

Want to make a new habit stick? Start small...really small. Research shows that tiny, simple steps done consistently are more effective than big, overwhelming changes. The key is having the right mix of motivation, ability, and a clear prompt to cue the behavior. When a habit feels easy and doable, you’re far more likely to follow through. Curious how to apply this science to your life? Learn more about building habits that last.

🌿 Mindful Moment:

Starting a mindfulness practice doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Try taking just one minute each morning. Yes, even before getting out of bed. Use that moment to focus on gratitude (especially helpful if you’re already feeling overwhelmed), notice your breath, or scan your body. This simple act helps you begin your day with intention rather than anxiety, and that shift can change everything.

🌅 Nature’s Nudge:

Feeling stuck or foggy while working? Step outside for a quick 5-minute walk or stretch. Shifting your environment, especially into nature, helps refresh your focus and energy. Sunlight can boost your mood, and movement helps reset your nervous system. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is pause.
